The Competition

Ticket Cost: £5
Target Ticket Sales: 170,000

This property has parts dating back to the 1580s and the 1600s but has been sympathetically renovated recently.

The house has six bedrooms including one with a mezzanine level over the bed. It has a substantial modern kitchen with a breakfast bar and various reception rooms including one with a log burner following the renovations completed over the last two years by the current owner. Outside there is a huge barn which has not been renovated as well as grounds of over an acre including mature gardens and a tennis court. The location is in the pretty village of Orleton which has a good range of amenities and is not far from the town of Ludlow.

The competition requires a question to be answered as is normally the case. In addition the owners are hoping to donate over £100,000 to two local Birmingham Children's Hospital Charity and The Beacon Centre For The Blind.

Competition Outcome

Winning Prize: Cancelled

The organisers of The Grand Draw have made the difficult decision to end the competition early. The lack of any major sales of tickets through covid lock down has now made it impossible for us to reach our targets to give away the house as a prize.

In accordance with our Terms & Conditions we will now be offering a cash draw as an alternative prize for competition entrants. A total of £40,000 will now be awarded as prizes. The prize draw, which will be independently monitored, will be held on May 10th to allow for final free post entries.

Cash prizes of £15,000, £10,000 and £5,000 were given out. We issued 345,663 paid and free tickets in total. We awarded £20,000 to charities, paid out £40,000 in cash prizes, and paid £25,000 in technology, advertising, design and marketing costs.
